Börse Berlin discusses pilot scheme in Koblenz

21/04/2011

When communicating directly with its investors Börse Berlin relies on the innovative concept of an internet forum. The forum was set up in cooperation with the University of Potsdam. After several publications in scientific journals the project was presented at the Koblenzer Forum for Business Software (KoFoBis) on 12 April.

The unorthodox pilot scheme “Internet Forum in Financial Communication” of Börse Berlin in cooperation with the University of Potsdam was the cause for an invitation to the 4th. Koblenzer Forum for Business Software 2011 (KoFoBis) on 12 April. KoFoBis, organized by Prof. Dr. Petra Schubert, aims at introducing a broader audience to the successful implementation of software solutions in companies.

Together with Prof. Dr. Stefan Stieglitz Börse Berlin informed the attendants about the concept and the results of its project. The main objectives have been achieved: to strengthen customer loyalty and customer contentment by incorporating their ideas. Examples are an earlier trading start at 8:00 CET or the introduction of new instruments for trading in Berlin.

Börse Berlin used the internet forum well before other companies as an additional communication channel. The offer was supplemented by relevant information on security trading. By the end of 2006 a chat with experts was established which took place every fortnight. Investors could ask various experts all sorts of questions – be it their rights as equity holder or the future development of the markets.

As a result of its positive experience, Börse Berlin will keep on using interactive Web 2.0 techniques as means of communication to stay in continuous contact with private investors. New concepts have already been developed. Nevertheless personal contact is still considered a very important component of customer relations. Therefore Börse Berlin will continue to attend fairs and organize own events such as the Berliner Aktienforum which will take place on 8 June at 18:30 CET.
